Spray Tanning FAQ'S
Have you been working out?
It's a well known fact that a good quality spray tan makes you look toned and healthy giving you a boost of energy and confidence.
Will the spray tan turn me orange or streaky?
No. Full stop. St.Tropez which are the best in the industry with the most natural looking colours. Trust us- we've tried them all!
How long will my tan last for?
As long as you follow the easy aftercare tips found on the 'Before & After' page your tan can last for up to 10 days, and then will fade evenly, like a normal tan. A spray tan is more likely to fade on your face though due to it being on display more than other parts of your body, taking makeup on and off etc.
Does it smell funny?
No. St.Tropez has an Aromaguard a revolutionary fragrance technology that effectively banishes the odour associated with self-tanning by up to 70%. The Luxe Oil even less!
How long does a spray tan take?
Normally that actual application take about 10 minutes. We aim to be in and out in 30mins! If you chose to highlight and contour that takes a little extra time, but not long.
What preparation is needed?
Take a look at our Do's & Don'ts on the 'Before & After' page for more info regarding preparation.
What should I wear?
You should wear whatever you feel most comfortable in; most clients go topless but wear a dark thong or similar, and some wear a dark bikini. We bring disposable underwear if you would not like to use your own.
Is there an age limit on spray tanning?
No, however, we will need a signature from a parent/guardian over 18 for every person under 18 who requests a spray tan. No children under 16 can be nude during the tanning- they must be wearing a bikini or shorts.
When is the best time to have a spray tan before a special occasion?
It depends- we have options! For a change of heart/sudden night out then we have St Tropez's 'Express Tan' treatments especially designed to develop in 4-6 hours leaving you hot to trot!
Otherwise for a special occasion we would recommend having your tan 2 days before the event. If you are a bride to be check out our Bridal Tan page for all the info you need.
Who should not have a spray tan
We recommend that pregnant ladies, those with breathing difficulties, and those with any allergies to tanning products, should avoid spray tanning.
What should I do and wear after my spray tan?
Although our application doesn't leave you 'wet' it’s always worth wearing loose, darker clothing. Avoid exercise and swimming whilst your tan develops, or anything that could cause excessive perspiration. After eight hours your tan should be fully developed, but for best results leave on overnight before showering, then pat yourself dry. For more info read out DO's & DON'Ts
Will the spray tan make a mess in my home? Whats the process?
NO.We're super compact and super tidy. Our tent is approx a metre squared. We need a small area to move and an electrical point and that’s it. Everything stays contained within the tent- no nasty surprises on the carpet or walls. Check out our 'The Process' page for all the info you need.
How dark will I get?
We are not orange tan fans. How dark your skin goes will depend on your skin type and the strength of the solution we use during the treatment and we will advise you on this during your appointment. We offer a subtle, premium golden tan and have options for even the fairest of skins.
How do I pay for my spray tan?
Very easily. Contact us with your required time slot and we'll confirm ASAP, then just pay for it on the day of your appointment in cash, or or by transfer.
I’m a guy… can I get a spray tan!?!
